Ugly, Bloody Week

July 11, 2016 | Gunner Steele

Its been a tough week for America. First we have two new videos "go viral" that appear to show white police officers killing unarmed black men. (Of course we don't yet fully know if that's the case and I, for one, am more inclined to give the officers the benefit of the doubt until further investigation).

And then we get the news that a black man in Dallas starts killing random police officers at a "Black Lives Matter" event in Dallas. Ultimately, this black man is killed by Dallas's black chief of Police who actually used a robot to detonate an explosive device killing the gunman.

Really, there are so many unbelievable things happening here that its impossible to know where to begin the commentary. We've got white men killing black men. We've got black men killing white men. We've got black men killing black men in order to save white men and black men (and women). We've got law enforcement using robots to kill. And all of it under a week.

Unquestionably, for the foreseeable future, the news is going to be about race relations, gun control, and violence in America. And you know what—it's a shame. You know why? Because America is going to be holding the wrong conversation.

As usual, media elites are going to get Americans focused on the wrong topics. And here's what I mean...

We've had death, murder, and mayhem in America this past week. It was an ugly, bloody week.

Anyone with a soul or conscience must process quite a bit of emotions as a result. And as is typical, Americans will feel the need to blame something or somebody. Guns, race, poverty, privilege, and more will all be targets for blame as well as a few other things (like social media and technology, etc.)

But the focus will never turn to national morality. It won't. That's what the focus should be on, but it won't. You see, when somebody murders somebody, regardless of their intentions or their so called "color" of skin, it is immoral. Simple as that.
When somebody rapes somebody—it is immoral.
When somebody steals something—it is immoral.
When somebody destroys somebody else's property—it is immoral.
When somebody unlawfully brutalizes somebody else—it is immoral.
And this is the problem, America. We have digressed into an immoral country.

"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." John Adams (2nd President of the United States)

It didn't happen overnight. But it did happen. I don't believe anyone can accurately pinpoint a date or a time when it happened, but it did happen, my friends. And nobody can adequately assign blame to one single cause—because it was a host of causes working in concert.

From the effeminization of our culture, to the love of money, to the abdication of education to the state, to the weakness of our pulpits, to the abandoning of influence in government by religious leaders—and all these things working together to ultimately undermine the institution of the family, which in America was historically rooted in biblical faith—all these things have made America immoral. And because we're immoral, our laws don't seem to matter anymore.

"Neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt." Samuel Adams (Signer of the Declaration of Independence)

America has sowed corruption and now she is reaping. Blame guns all you want. Blame aggressive police forces. Blame angry black men. Blame angry white men. Blame the President. Blame the economy. Blame whatever.

But it's all in vain. The truth is that we're now immoral. And events like we had this week will continue ad infinitum until we become moral again.

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports. In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness..." George Washington (the Father of Our Country)
