Despite all the evidence, America will not lose, America will not fail, and America’s best days are still ahead. Here’s why:

In my previous email I compared America to Darth Vader. I know its a strange and humorous analogy, but you can’t deny the similarities. Anakin Skywalker started off as a good guy—a special “chosen one” who broke ranks for his own passions.

Unfortunately, he was seduced by his own power and the power of the “dark side” and became the evil and cruel Darth Vader—an ominous character who for some strange reason, still had lots of fans (think about how many people like Darth Vader—even though he was a bad guy). Then ultimately, before his death, Darth Vader, because of the cries of his son, Luke Skywalker, turned again to the light, saved his own son and destroyed the evil Emperor Palpatine. He then went on into movie history as one of the greatest characters of all time.

Sound familiar? Yeah, that’s America. And, America right now is in the Darth Vader state. America has been seduced by the dark side and has grown into an ominous and evil monster, destroying its own citizens' lives, and crushing the foundations upon which it was founded. Yet, America still has lots of fans and admirers (like Darth Vader).

If this current state was the end of America, then I’d have no hope. Because an honest look at the America of today—the size of our Federal Government, the disdain for law and order, the lack of respect for life, the rejection of faith, and the institutionalization of socialistic ideology—demonstrates that we are already living in the darkness.

But I told you that America’s best days were still ahead. Remember? Why do I say that?

The answer to this question is simple—and its not one that you’re probably going to hear often. You see, most people who talk about America being good and having a blessed future are doing so out of a fascination for America’s past. Its just nostalgia. But anybody who is intellectually honest, has to admit, that while America was once a great force for good in this world, we haven’t been that same good force for many decades. Probably not since the great Ronaldus Magnus, aka Ronald the Great, was President.

So then why do I say our best days are ahead?

Because “America” is not a country. “America” is not land. “America” does not have geography.

No, my friend, the truth is that America is an idea.

And that idea, the one that was immortalized in our founding documents, that in a nutshell says that “All men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness,” and that our Government should only exist to preserve these rights and to ensure men live FREE—that’s not a country. That’s an idea.

I for one am sick of what passes as “Patriotism” today and am disgusted by our identification of “Americans.” I really am.

Let me give you two quick examples:

Trevor Loudon is a brilliant man and an icon for Freedom and Liberty today. He describes himself as “Believing in freedom with responsibility, not freedom from responsibility. My ideal society is one in which government is slashed to the bone and people are free to reach their potential.” He loves America’s history and its foundational documents. He has written two books, Barack Obama and the Enemies Within and The Enemies Within: Communists, Socialists and Progressives in the U.S. Congress. He travels the world speaking and teaching on the glory of the Free Market and the Evil of Communism. He works tirelessly to expose the dangers of Communism and Socialism and to preserve America’s Freedom. And guess what, he’s not an American. He’s a New Zealander.

Michael Moore is a liberal dingbat who is also a filmmaker and author. He’s a socialist freakshow and left-wing political activist who despises America. He hates what America stands for. He wants to eliminate the 2nd amendment. He is disgusted by our history and feels like our Constitution is an impediment to America’s progress. And guess what, this idiot is an American.

See what I mean? Why in the world do we classify ourselves this way? Its freaking stupid!

In my eyes, Trevor Loudon is an American and Michael Moore is an idiot. I have other words I’d like to use, but like my preacher friend used to say, “Somebody will need to find me a sinner to say what needs to be said!”

You see, if America is a country, then Michael Moore is an American and Trevor Loudon is a foreigner. But if America is an idea, then Trevor Loudon is an American and Michael Moore is not.

And that is what I believe. I believe America is an idea. And that is why I believe America’s future is bright. And why I am confident that America’s best days are ahead.

And here is why—because no matter how bad the nation of America gets, no matter how high our taxes go, no matter how mathematically impossible it becomes to pay off our debts, no matter how morally corrupt we become, no matter how far we disregard our Constitution, no matter how much we reject the fundamentals of our faith, the IDEA OF AMERICA will not die.

And that, my friend, is why America’s future is bright. I don’t know what will come of the country of America. I don’t know what will become of the 50 states. But I do know what will become of the IDEA OF AMERICA. And this gives me great peace.

You see, there will always be someone to pick up the torch and carry the IDEA OF AMERICA. And there will always be people who will never betray the idea. There will always be people who refuse to allow an impudent government trample over them. There will always be people who will choose their faith before government force. There will always be people who will draw a line in the sand and refuse to let the enemy cross. I am one of those people. Are you?
